La Boca Neighborhood

Back in August I travelled to Argentina and Brazil. When in Buenos Aires, I took the opportunity to once again visit the famous (and might I add colorful) neighborhood called La Boca. PS: That's where the famous Boca Juniors stadium is located.

If you're into history, this might interest you:

"It was between 1880 and 1930 that about 6 million immigrants landed in the port of La Boca..."

Long story short: they had a limited supply of paint, so they decided to use leftovers from ships that would sail in. The results are depicted in detail below, in an artist's--not a tourist's--point of view.

colors + textures + more color = La Boca

  1. The colors, clarity, and composition are astonishing. I adore the brilliant colors -- you never see scenes like this in the States. You should make these into commercial screensavers.
